Kerney E. "Pete" Nickens was the second child of Perkins Melvin Nickens, Sr. and Gertrude Ballard. He was born Nov, 1938 at Hammond, Tangipahoa Parish, La. Perkins married Barbara "Bobbie" Coates, date and location unknown. She was born Feb, 1938 at New Orleans, Orleans Parish, La. She is the daughter of Norman Wesley Coates and Ruth Folkes. Both "Pete" and "Bobbie" are living.
