Vennie Joseph "Nick" Nickens Sr. was the sixth child of Seaborn James Nickens and Francis Matilda Ficklin He was born 13 Oct, 1914 at Galvez, Ascension Parish, La. Vennie married Evelyn L. Mire (no known date). She born 24 Mar, 1925, the daughter of Oxima J. Mire and Mary Jane Rheams. Evelyn died 11 Mar, 1947 and is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Prairieville, Ascension Parish, La. Vennie remarried to Alice Melvina Kinchen Porrier (date unknown). Alice was born 14 Mar, 1916 at Star Hill, West Feliciana Parish, La. She was the daughter of John and Lousa Kinchen. Alice died 24 Feb, 2002 and is buried at Mt Zion Cemetery. Vennie died 13 Aug, 2002 and is also buried at Mt Zion Cemetery.
