John Ella Nickens was the third child of John Davis Nickens and Lula Erata Ficklin. He was born 06 May, 1904 at Gonzales, Ascension Parish, La. John Ella died 29 Sep, 1916 and is buried in Ficklin Cemetery at Galvez, La.
