Bernard Norris Nickens was the sixth child of George Thomas Nickens and Julia Celestine Thompson. He was born 27 Feb, 1914 in Ascension Parish, La. Bernard married Rosa Gladys Dixon 04 May, 1937 in Ascension Parish. She was the daughter of William Millard Dixon and Vessie Woods. Rosa was born 03 Oct, 1919 at Dixie, East Baton Rouge Parish, La. Bernard died 03 Jul, 1969 and is buried in Carpenter's Chapel Cemetery at Galvez, Ascension Parish, La. Rosa died 03 Mar, 2003 and is also buried at Carpenter's Chapel Cemetery.
