Richard Lee Nickens was the first child of Sidney Bell Nickens and Ida Roddy Persick. He was born 25 Jan, 1914 at Galvez, Ascension Parish, La. During Mar, 1935 Lee married Mary McCrory. She was born 07 Dec, 1914 at Ascension Parish, La, the daughter of Royal J. "Roy" McCrory and Mary Minnie Causey. Sometime after the birth of their last daughter, Lee and Mary separated. He remarried to Edith Watts. She was born 28 Jul, 1928 at French Settlement, Ascension Parish. She was the daughter of Homer Wilson Watts Sr. and Mable Duplessis. Richard Lee died 24 Jul, 1996 and is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Galvez, Ascension Parish. Mary McCrory died 06 Jan, 1997 and is buried in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, La. Edith died 30 Dec, 2006 and is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
